Secretary Hand
Historic correspondence from the 16th and 17th centuries written in the script of the day known as “Secretary Hand”
This small collection of a half dozen letters illustrates the power of AM Quartex’s in-platform Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) to recognize a wide variety of scripts and produce accurate results using the in-document search functionality.
Following special training of the artificial intelligence that underlies this technology conducted using a collection of documents from the Folger Shakespeare Library, HTR is able to identify unique patterns in text, such as the superscript contractions used in Secretary Hand. To see an example select a document from this collection and try searching 'your'.
